Administrative Coordinator

 
The Edmonton Community Legal Centre (ECLC) is a not for profit organization providing free legal information, advice, and representation in the areas of civil and administrative law for persons living with low income in the Edmonton area.

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for the financial and administrative systems of the Edmonton Community Legal Centre.  The core duties are financial management, office administration, IT support, and program support.

1. Financial Management
·         All accounting and bookkeeping functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices as defined by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants Handbook for non-profit organizations;
·         Maintenance of records of all financial instruments including cash, investments, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and capital assets;
·         All cash flow activities including receipting and depositing incoming funds, and expense cheque preparation, distribution, and monitoring
·         Perform all aspects of cash management, including preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and quarterly financial statements;
·         Process semi-monthly payroll, including remittances to CRA, WCB, and employee benefits providers as required;
·         Prepare T4s, ROEs, and all other financial documentation as required of an employer and a not-for-profit organization
·         Assisting the ED with preparing the annual agency budget;
·         Liaise with external auditor in preparation of annual audited financial report

2. Management of office processes, policies, and procedures
·         Maintenance and development of forms and processes
·         Monitoring and communicating office policy and procedures
·         Training of all staff on office procedures and systems

3. IT Management
·         Maintenance of server, network, computer work stations.
·         Responsible for the security, storage, and back up of all agency electronic records
·         Advise the Executive Director of hardware and software needs of the agency, including recommendations for purchase options.

4. Office Administration
·         Order supplies
·         Maintain office equipment
·         Maintain office space

5. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

A one-year maternity leave is available for this position, effective April 18, 2011.
