Volunteer Opportunities for Law Students

2nd and 3rd Year Law Students

Legal File Work (2nd and 3rd year law students) Law students assist staff lawyers with files, including researching case law, drafting legal documents, and interviewing clients. These volunteers may also have the opportunity to attend administrative tribunals and various court appearances. This is an excellent opportunity to develop legal research and writing skills, learn about civil procedure, and gain experience working directly with clients. 

Hours: Flexible daytime hours; some evenings may be possible
Commitment: a minimum of 3 hours per week
Qualifications: 2nd or 3rd year law student; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently; and an interest in poverty law.
